No other educational system in the world gives such a central role to the arts as the Waldorf school movement. Even mathematics is presented in an artistic fashion and related via dance, movement or drawing, to the child as a whole. Anything that can be done to further these revolutionary educational ideas will be of the greatest importance.

Diversity Workshop

Can you imagine a planet where everything was the same colour and the shape? Imagine if there were no mountains or valleys and that all we had were flat, never-ending plains? Imagine if those self-same plains and everything that grew on them were exactly the same colour. Let us not even go into the animal kingdom – the picture is already horrible! It is a fact that one of the features of our planet earth that we all delight in as human beings is the huge variety of landscapes, flora and fauna that we are blessed with.

Paradoxically, while we revel in that diversity, the huge variety of human beings, in all their shapes, colours and cultures, that this planet is equally blessed with, causes us discomfort rather than the same delight. Can you really imagine what it would be like to live in a Matrix (the movie) type world where everyone looked alike? Remember the unlimited supply of the Mr. Smiths and the titanic struggles with Neo? Ugh!

Just as in the non-human world of our planet and the plants and animals that live on it, the real beauty and strength lies in their diversity, we say to you, exactly the same beauty and strength lies in the diversity that we find in human beings.

During the time that we will be together you will be given a chance to look afresh at one another. It might even be that it will be the very first time that you truly SEE each other. There will one or two lectures – not too many – and they will really be a chance for discussion rather than lectures, about the nature of relationships, respect (shall we dare to talk about love?) and co-operation. We will play some games that will be an opportunity for you to explore your own behaviour and assess how this impacts on others – both in your personal and your business life.

What we would like you to start looking at before the workshop starts are the following points. We suggest that you do some simple journaling – make a few notes. Take this seriously - it will make your workshop experience richer and more valuable.

    * What ten things do you want most in your relationships busienss adn personal?
    * For each of them, rate your current success in getting them on a scale of 1 to 10.
    * Detail what you are prepared to do to make sure you get them?
    * Detail five things that prevent you from getting them?
    * What does the word respect mean for you?
    * What are your ten biggest fears?
    * Detail ten of your good points

The Diversity of your organisations is a huge asset. Let us exploit it to everyones benefit and profit.
